Captain America: The Winter Soldier (WWII Cap Helmet)

Images for this helmet are pretty scant, as it wasn't worn for very long in the movie. However, the process for this one was pretty much the same as for the modern helmet. Great designs by Ryan Meinerding and rough model created by Josh Herman. There wasn't nearly as much involved in making this as there was on the modern version, and for good reason; it's supposed to come from an earlier time when everything was stamped, knurled, or folded metal. Even replicating those stamping looks and knurled edges in ZBrush was great. I actually spent time looking at the old WWII Doughboy helmets to try and get the folding correct and the stampings to look right. It also helps that Cap is one of my favorite characters in the Marvel universe.
